The aim of Noodle Nest is to introduce a family couch that addresses mothers’ needs during breastfeeding while facilitating interaction with other children in the family unit.
Most mothers often find themselves in need of privacy and a quiet space to breastfeed in public or when surrounded by others. This process, which is repetitive and lengthy, requires a comfortable environment that accommodates various nursing positions.
However, the experience can pose challenges for firstborn children, who may feel neglected or sidelined during this intimate act. It’s crucial to provide attention and inclusion to the first baby, ensuring they feel valued and involved in the nurturing process. Additionally, the natural inclination of the first baby to seek closeness to their mother during breastfeeding is entirely normal, as it fosters a sense of security and affection. Addressing these dynamics is paramount in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for both mother and child.
How might we design a comfortable seating object for breastfeeding that also engages children, making it enjoyable for them to play while accommodating the needs of the mother?
